What is Tirzepatide?
Tirzepatide works by activating both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors in your body. This triggers the release of insulin from your pancreas that blocks glucagon, a hormone that increases blood sugar levels. As a result, your blood sugar levels can be controlled effectively, especially after a meal. In addition, tirzepatide affects certain chemicals in the brain which in turn decreases food intake, increases energy expenditure, and prevents ectopic fat deposition (abnormal fat accumulation in body parts that normally contains small amounts of fat). These effects result in significant weight reductions.
Is Tirzepatide the same as Semaglutide?
No. While medications such as Semaglutide focus solely on GLP-1 receptors, Tirzepatide utilizes both GIP and GLP-1 receptors to treat weight loss. The result is greater weight loss.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
Most of our patients report a weight loss between 8-12 pounds a month on Tirzapetide. Individual results may vary.
Do you accept insurance?
The Luxe Medspa does not accept insurance.
Are there any side effects?
Because Tirzepatide works to alter how your body digests food, it may lead to various stomach issues as you adjust to the medication. Most patients report mild effects that usually resolve themselves over time, including:
Diarrhea
Nausea
Vomiting
Stomach pain
Constipation
Lack of appetite
Heartburn
Irritation or redness at the injection site
How often do I need to take the medication?
Tirzepatide will need to be injected once weekly.
What is the Tirzapetide dosing schedule?
It’s recommended for all patients to begin Tirzepatide at 2.5 mg to see how well it’s tolerated and then increase the dose from there. It’s essential to follow the instructions of your healthcare provider. Here is Tirzapetide’s recommended dosing schedule:
Week 1-4: 2.5 mg weekly
Week 5-8: 5 mg once weekly
Week 9-12: 7.5 mg once weekly
Week 13-16: 10 mg once weekly
Please keep in mind that this is a recommendation. Most patients find success at a low dose and choose to remain there for more than 4 weeks. Our provider will work with you throughout the program to find the right dose for your situation.
What is the refund policy?
The Luxe Medspa offers goods and services that are irrevocable. Therefore, we do not issue refunds for any product or service that has been injected or used in your treatment. In consenting to be treated, clients must understand and accept this condition. Peptide formulations are made for each patient. Once an order for peptides has been submitted and sent for compounding no refunds are available.
Deposits are required to book. The remaining balance is due in the office after the assessment.

Those wanting to continue the program beyond the initial session are more than welcome to continue with us. Appointments for refills on medication can be scheduled online also. Avoid waiting until the last minute to request refills. Refills should be arranged in a timely fashion to prevent gaps in your weight loss program. The procedure for timing and instructions on completing a Refill Request will be discussed during your assessment.

What would disqualify me from taking Tirzepatide?
To ensure your safety, patients who have any of the following medical conditions will not be eligible for medical weight loss with The Luxe Medspa:
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Type 1 Diabetic
- Low blood sugar
- Eating Disorder
- HIV/AIDS
- Those undergoing chemo/radiation or that have undergone chemo/radiation in the last 12 months
- Acute inflammation of the pancreas
- Decreased kidney function
- Medullary thyroid cancer
- Medullary tumors or nodules
- Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2
- Family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma
- Kidney disease
- Pancreatitis
- Those who are pregnant or trying to conceive/start/or add to their family in the next 3 months (both men and women)
